Fried crabs and Chips! Just wow combo! Tandoori fried crabs are a fantastic, flavorful dish that combines the richness of seafood with aromatic Indian spices. Here’s a simple way to make them!
Ingredients:1 big sized crab (cleaned and split)
1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
1 tablespoon red chili powder
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon garam masala
1 teaspoon coriander powder
Salt to taste
1 tablespoon lemon juice/ tamarind paste
2 tablespoons oil (for frying)
Fresh cilantro (for garnish)
Sometime I use kandalasun masala too instead of other marinade.
Instructions:
Prepare the Marinade:
In a bowl, mix the ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, coriander powder, salt, and lemon juice.
Whisk it all together to form a coarse marinade.
Marinate the Crabs:
Clean the crabs, split the cover as shown in image.
Coat the crabs well with the marinade and let them sit for at least 30 minutes to absorb the flavors. If you have more time, you can let it marinate for 2-3 hours in the fridge.
Fry the Crabs:
Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
Once the oil is hot, carefully place the marinated crabs in the pan. Apply coarse rice flour as coating on the marinated crab.
Fry the crabs for about 4-5 minutes on each side until they are crispy and golden brown.
Also toss some potato wedges alongside.
You may need to do this in batches.
Serve:
Garnish with fresh cilantro.
Serve the tandoori fried crabs with a side of naan or steamed rice.
Enjoy your delicious and flavorful tandoori fried crabs!
